Adam Holloway has been an avid student of military history from an early age and has a particular interest in the Great War. He is the proud great-grandson of a 9th Battalion Anzac and an equally proud son of a Vietnam veteran. The stories of 10 other Great War soldier relatives fuelled a commitment to honour what these extraordinary men did for the freedom of others.
He has a great love of travel and has completed several extensive research expeditions to western Queensland, and to the battlefields of France and Belgium where his family lived, fought and died.
Adam is also an accomplished military history author. His first book, Duty Nobly Done (2018), is the true account of 11 Holloways who fought in the First World War. His pain-staking research and vivid storytelling was honoured when the book was selected by the Australian Army’s Royal Military College (RMC-A) for their Professional Military Education (PME) ‘Reading List’ (2020-2021).
Further honoured by Army, Adam was invited to address officers at ‘Kokoda Barracks’, Land Warfare Centre, Canungra to discuss the book and the principles of ‘Good Soldiering’ therein. He has also been a special guest on many live radio programs including 2GB with Alan Jones, 4BC and 6PR, as well as numerous podcasts discussing military history and writing.
Adam has a Bachelor of Justice from Queensland University of Technology where he majored in Investigations and Policing. His patient and meticulous investigative research has been honed during more than 16 years as a Queensland Police Officer, including five years in the Criminal Investigation Branch. For over 12 years in recent times, he has enhanced his professional investigtive ability working with State and Local government agencies.
As a 'Battlefield Investigator', Adam has provided ‘Research Services’, using his carefully refined skills and research databases to ensure that other descendants of Great War soldiers experience a rich and fulfilling journey to the Western Front.
Now, Adam has combined his passions in crafting incredibly engaging Western Front battlefield tours for his guests that will see them transported across oceans and time. It is his fervent desire that even group tours be made personal for his guests.
